shown above? Any health-freedom fighter will know the answer immediately. They
are all enemies of health-freedom, and formidable ones at that. Can we win
against these odds?
The road ahead seems overwhelming for individuals who desire and demand freedom
of choice when it comes to their health decisions and basic rights in general.
Many of us are waking up to a reality, never imagined in our wildest dreams,
that Codex and its bad stepsisters could impact our personal health with its far
reaching goal of harmonizing the world and its people, no matter the costs.
At this stage, only some of us can envision the big picture, most shudder at the
thought. I am from the 60's, as are many of the NHF members and newsletter
readers. We didn't shy away from a good fight if it was for a reason we believed
in. Are we past our "warrior prime?" Not if it's needed, and it is needed.
There are millions of us who depend on supplements to better our health and who
demand the freedom to choose our own destiny.
It's time to come together and it's definitely time to be heard.

The National Health Federation strongly
encourages our members and readers to
gear up for the next battle ahead:
By aggressively opposing the FTAA (Free Trade Area of the Americas.)
By pro-actively and persistently contacting your Senate and House
representatives NOW, to impress upon them the necessity to oust the current
U. S. Codex delegates who claim to represent Americans at Codex Alimentarius
meetings.
The current U.S. representatives F. Edward Scarbrough, Barbara Schneeman,
and others are virtually mute at these meetings (except when a pharmaceutical-industry interest needs protection), pro-harmonization, and never, ever, stand
up for health-freedom on any issue. They are FDA bureaucrats, with no real
love or interest in DSHEA, and, as you know, the FDA's own website blatantly
states that its objective is global harmonization of American food standards to
those of Codex. We need real delegates who will act in our interests, not
benchsitters and apologists for the EU regulators.
How do the two issues above tie together?
The United States and Brazil will be co-chairmen of the final phase of the
FTAA negotiations. The illegal passage of CAFTA has now extended NAFTA to
Central America, and the FTAA, if approved, would then extend this so-called "free trade" (really managed trade) zone on so as to include South
America as well. The FTAA agreement states that its members shall abide by
harmonization standards.
Similar language appears in Article 19 & Article 20 of the agreement
referring to SPS (Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures) standards and
guidelines, and specifically states in paragraph 19.2 that "The Parties agree
to collaborate in monitoring, at the hemispheric level, the process of
international harmonization as established by the Committee on Sanitary and
Phytosanitary Measures of the WTO."
With Americans having the freest dietary-supplement laws in the world, we do
not fit well into the envisioned Brave New World puzzle of Codex, the WTO, the
European Union, and the grandiose Free Trade Area of the Americas. We have
already seen how the United Kingdom, with its many supplement users and
relatively-free dietary supplement laws, is being consumed and overridden by
the EU Food Supplements Directive. This has resulted from its unfortunate
submersion into the legal and treaty framework of the European Union.
The FTAA appears to be the latest vehicle of choice to deprive the U.S. of
its DSHEA-protected supplement freedoms and to force the United States to
harmonize its laws to the harshly restrictive dietary-supplement Codex
standards. Once accomplished, all in the name of an ersatz "free trade," the
globalist plan for crushing individuality and reducing us all down to simple
cogs in the machine will be significantly closer to completion.
It is important to know that CAFTA actually went down to defeat. It is only
because its proponents illegally extended the 15-minute voting time by another
hour that they were able to arm-twist enough representatives into voting for
its passage. So, the CAFTA vote was extremely close, many citizens being
unaware, on vacation, and unable to oppose this legislation, which is exactly
what was desired by the pro-CAFTA forces. The passage of CAFTA has awakened
many and now the FTAA battle will be a fierce one.
Spin articles are already being circulated by CRN (Council for Responsible
Nutrition) and NutraIngredients-USA.com, stating that CAFTA, Codex, and the EU
FSD will not affect Americans and their access to dietary supplements. Who
backs these organizations, might it be pharmaceutical funding in the
shadows? Why else would they have felt the most recent events at Codex were
positive? And why was CRN silent when it had a chance at Codex to speak out
for health-freedom and the companies it supposedly represents?
NutraIngredients-USA.com just posted an article unequivocally stating that the U.S.
public has nothing to fear and smearing the NHF by referencing to us as "the so-called National Health Federation." Of course, no one wants to hear negative
news, we all receive plenty on a daily basis; but we shouldn't bury our heads
either. No one wishes more than us that we didn't have these battles and
harmonization on the horizon.
But, for over 50 years, we have always dared to tell the truth and we must
all face reality and not be led to the slaughter simply because it is easier
to hear a positive than a negative.
We ask that you thank your Representatives and Senators who opposed CAFTA,
and to blacklist and reprimand those who voted for its passage. We must unite
against the passage of the FTAA, as we did in 1994 to ensure the passage of
the DSHEA Act. It is imperative that we win, to ensure our sovereignty and
our health-freedoms. This globalist plan using so-called "free trade"
agreements to harmonize Americans MUST BE STOPPED. Educate others, send them

Health Federation Responds to NutraIngredients-USA.com Spin Article
Response to NutraIngredients-USA.com’s
so-called Article

Unfortunately, in her so-called article “CAFTA has
no impact on supplement laws, says AHPA” (NutraIngredients-USA.com 8/1/05), Jess Halliday shows her ignorance of the health-freedom movement when she insultingly
refers to the National Health Federation as “so-called.” In fact, there is
nothing “so-called” about this nonprofit, health-freedom organization of
consumers, the oldest on the planet, and more entitled to its name than Ms.
Halliday is to any title of “reporter.” But, then, perhaps it’s better to be
“so-called” than “no-called” – especially when it results in free publicity of
one’s views.
Currently celebrating its fiftieth-anniversary
year, the National Health Federation (NHF) is probably older than Ms. Halliday
and it is the reason that Ms. Halliday now enjoys the freedom to
take whatever supplements she might be taking and certainly the reason that she
even has an industry to report about! The NHF also predates by almost three
decades the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) that Ms. Halliday so
fondly and sycophantically quotes throughout her article as some kind of an
authority on CAFTA and Codex, when AHPA – unlike the NHF – has never even
attended a Codex meeting let alone ever before discussed CAFTA.
Strange, then, that this editor of
NutraIngredients-USA.com spends so much time soliciting and illuminating the
views of AHPA, especially when AHPA is so clearly wrong. It makes us all wonder
about what else NutraIngredients-USA.com might have been misreporting over the
years. Perhaps this is a sign that its subscribers and readers should be
looking elsewhere for truthful news.
Regardless, the truth is that CAFTA is
a danger. Let us not even get into the fact that CAFTA was illegally “passed”
after it had actually been defeated one hour earlier – a gross procedural
violation. The danger in CAFTA to us comes from its language tying the United
States into the harmonizing provisions of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Of course, as AHPA’s Michael McGuffin says, we are already tied in because of
the WTO; but is Mr. McGuffin actually saying that he does not mind being shot by
a second bullet just because a previous one has already hit him? Having
multiple interlocking treaty obligations certainly makes any one of them more
difficult to unwind should we ever wake up and choose to do so. I guess AHPA
just loves straightjackets – and the more the merrier!
As for Ms. Halliday’s misleading claim that DSHEA
is not actually a SPS measure, that is like saying that the Brooklyn Bridge
really has nothing to do with water. Oh, really? Well, for those of us who
have actually been attending Codex meetings for years and actually been
following the discussions, instead of listening to suspect third-hand sources,
we know that the Codex standards (and the SPS agreements) are all about
so-called “protection of the consumer.” And how do the Europeans define
consumer protection when it comes to vitamins and minerals? Yes! In their
anti-supplement paranoia, these regulators, who have tight control over the
Codex process, consider any food supplements more potent than RDA levels to be a
consumer danger. Moreover, they consider any vitamins and minerals other than
those on their positive lists to be a mortal danger to consumers as well.
And for those of you who actually know something
about DSHEA, guess what freedoms DSHEA permits American consumers? That’s
right, for eleven years DSHEA has kept the government’s hands off of (1) dietary
supplements significantly more potent than the feeble and
meaningless RDAs and (2) thousands of supplements that have
never appeared on any European or Codex positive list that I have ever seen (and
likely never will). All of these constitute a health (read sanitary and
phytosanitary) danger in the eyes of the European-dominated Codex Commission
and, hence, the WTO. If the United States is required by law to
harmonize to Codex standards, which specifically prohibit non-approved and
high-potency supplements, then where does that leave DSHEA? On life support -
with the FDA and its allies just itching to pull the plug.
So, AHPA sets up a strawman argument and then bats
it down with puny logic and misdirection. And, unfortunately, with something
akin to Van Gogh’s ear for music, NutraIngredients-USA.com’s unsophisticated
staff has fallen lock, stock and barrel for the argument. Do either really
think that a trade dispute seeking enforcement of health measures – particularly
in this age of galloping globalization – would not result in some
form of suppression of DSHEA? Would they give a guarantee to their members and
readers that DSHEA was absolutely water-tight from any seepage from CAFTA or
other trade agreements? Even better, are they that confident that they would
bet their own businesses and livelihoods upon it? If so, then they are either
correct or they are fools. And since they are not correct . . ., well, you do
the math.

CHEMOTHERAPY AND GMO FOODS

Giuseppe Nacci's Declarations against GMO Foods

On the 31st January 2005, the
Italian Senate passed a law that approves the co-existence in
Italy of GMO (genetically modified organisms) crops and
natural plants. This act is a crime carried forward to
jeopardize the health of all Italian and European citizens.
If GMO's are cultivated also in Italy, the Western classical
medicine (which has been founded on plant therapy and on
vegetarian dietary principles) will consequently be unable to
effectively cure Cancer (as already demonstrated through the
Gerson Therapy), thus making this illness definitively
INCURABLE.
This will allow, the OFFICIAL MEDICINE, which is closely
linked to the Chemo-pharmaceutical multinational industries,
to confirm the absolute ineffectiveness of herbal therapies
that have been brought forward and supported by so many
doctors, in particular, Dr. Max Gerson (see: "Washington, July
3, 1946: when the Cancer was defeated.") Consequently,
Chemotherapy will remain the true indisputable official
THERAPY against Cancer. Note: its annual business portfolio
totals several hundreds of billions of Euro-dollars, but with
a success rate of less than 10% in its ability in actually
curing the illness.
The Threat of Genetically Modified Organisms
Cancer is a degenerative disease caused by a lack of vitamins
and poisoning from chemical substances present in food. One
can estimate the number of vitamins and pro-vitamin substances
present in natural plants commonly used as food by humans, as
more than 13,000 - 15,000 types. The introduction into modern
agriculture of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) is an
unjustified and dangerous alteration of what Evolution has
produced in plants over hundreds of millions of years: plants
on which the subsequent biochemical evolution of superior
complex animal organisms has been based, culminating with the
advent of mammals in the last 65 million years and then with
the arrival of Man. Therefore the delicate biochemical balance
of the human race depends on plant species remaining integral,
just as evolution created them, because the health of every
one of us is based on the biochemical human cell, and this
depends, through the complexity of the DNA, on the use of
thousands of vitamins and of the herbal-chemical compounds
present in nature.
GMOs
To get maximum agricultural production today we resort to
changing the genetic patrimony of natural plants, with the aim
of changing their structure and making them sterile (thus
farmers have to buy new seeds every year), patenting the
transformation induced and re-selling the product all over the
world. Furthermore it can be affirmed that there is a
substantial equivalence between the genetically modified
product (GMO) and that obtained by selecting genetic
characteristics (that is by means of naturally crossbreeding
plants as has been done by man over the course of thousands of
years). This eighth declaration says however that this
'substantial equivalence', cannot be sustained, because the
natural crossbreeding of plants uses natural seeds of the same
species, while genetic manipulation (GMO) crosses all
barriers, and introduces genes from other types of vegetable
species or even bacteria, viruses and animal genes. In fact
the majority of genes used in genetic engineering come from
living species which have never been a part of the human food
chain and actually come from DNA not of plants but of animals,
bacteria or viruses and/or transgenic retroviruses.
As a doctor qualified in nuclear medicine the author has had
the opportunity to study the effects of ionizing radiation on
complex organisms for years. It is his personal view that
plants, too, are complex organisms, they are the fruit of
hundreds of millions of years of biological evolution: every
genetic modification caused in plants by man (with radiation
such as Chernobyl, or with viruses such as presently used in
GMO), however small that modification is, will cause damage,
irreparable damage which often cannot be seen, because man
only knows a limited number of safe vitamins and pro-vitamin
substances. However, there are tens of thousands of vitamins
and other substances present in plants, and it is these which
are responsible for the correct working of the biochemical
human complex and the human genome (DNA).
Genetic Mutation of Plants and the Subsequent Alteration of
Human Biochemistry
Because of the introduction of foreign genes (for example from
animals, bacteria, viruses and retroviruses) into the DNA of
plants, an alteration in the normal genomic sequence of the
plant occurs, with the appearance of new proteins and/or the
loss of other proteins of a genomic sequence. Therefore new
substances similar to natural vitamins have appeared, but
which actually have enzymatic and biochemical characteristics
different to natural ones, and therefore introduce changes in
their component of biochemical activity on the human genome,
once they have been introduced through food.
There is therefore the potential risk of new diseases of an
'artificial' type, caused by the genetic manipulation (GMO) of
vegetable organisms, genetically polluted by new molecules of
a similar vitaminic nature with inductive effects on the human
DNA and on its complex biochemistry which is totally unknown,
but probably heralding serious damage given the extreme
complexity and hence vulnerability of the human DNA.
Numerous plants have already disappeared during the last few
years because farmers have abandoned natural plants in favor
of adopting artificial plants, that is, genetically modified
plants, because they are uniform in their genome and they give
a high production (but are poor in vitamins). They are
intrinsically sick (because they are incapable of surviving
without pesticides), they are made sterile for economic
reasons, and finally they are genetically manipulated to make
them resistant to insects and other animals because they
themselves are capable of producing poisons, that is, toxic
substances which are eaten by farmyard animals and so passed
on to man.
Even in the forests genetic variety is threatened today by the
loss of habitat, not only caused by incorrect deforestation
practices, but also by the contamination of the genetic
patrimony (which has adapted to local situations) by hybrids
created by large seed Companies which produce GMOs.

The United States is passing a law that legalizes the
contamination of crops with genetically modified organisms (GMO).

The FDA is about to publish what can certainly be considered
the law that legalizes the contamination of food with
transgenic substances. The policy recently adopted by this
governmental entity sets scandalously rough guidelines for a
company to deliberately follow and thereby obtain from the FDA
itself the approval and acceptance to use transgenic
substances that are still in the experimental phase.
This superficial and inadequate procedure supplies companies
with legal protection in case of contamination and guarantees
the authorization of their own experimental seeds that are
therefore immediately introduced into the food chain. What's
worse, as over two-thirds of GMO's under experimental
cultivation in the USA contain genes whose specific
characteristics are considered of "confidential nature", at
present there is no way of getting to known more about what
they contain. Consequently, for the very fact that
laboratories cannot obtain this essential information, they
are unable to trace their presence in foodstuffs on the
market, with obvious serious repercussions on the activity of
all those firms and companies who are constantly striving to
avoid the contamination phenomena.
