Chicago & The Summer of Our Discontent April 20, 2005
Dear All,
Here are more details of what the American Dental Association
(ADA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
are planning this summer, with the aid of alot of our
tax dollars (see below). But be careful, even the symposium
schedule will make you feel ill!
This is the same ADA which has been promoting mercury amalgams
for over 150 years; the same ADA which has made life a misery
for any dentist who opposes them on amalgams, but then refuses
to protect them when they are taken to court over their toxic
effects; the same ADA which cannot defend fluoridation in an
open public debate; the same ADA which captured all the web
addresses around our little effort to educate the people (try
typing in www.fluoridealert.com
or www.fluoridealert.net
and see what you get!) and the same ADA which told its members
in a White Paper in 1979:
³Individual dentists must be convinced that they need not be
familiar with scientific reports of laboratory and field
investigations on fluoridation to be effective participants in
the promotion program and that nonparticipation is overt
neglect of professional responsibility.²
In short, this is the same
ADA
which is a disgrace to any true dental professional.
And this is the same CDC which told the world in October,
1999, that fluoridation is "One of the top 10 public health
achievements of the Twentieth Century", and yet when they did
so they were six years out of date on the health literature,
and their primitive promotion of its efficacy would have made
an undergraduate blush! (see

This is the same CDC which relies for claims of safety on the
NRC(1993) review but refuses to wait until the NRC has
completed its current review, before launching mandatory
fluoridation efforts across the country. To say that these
bureaucrats are failing to exercise due diligence when it
comes to protecting the public health is the understatement of
the new century!
All of this by way of saying we need to be in Chicago - as
many of us as possible - to visibly, creatively, and politely
-register our disgust with both of these organizations, and
their continued efforts to deceive the American people and the
rest of the world. This is our chance to get to the dual
headwaters of the mighty stream of deception which has flowed
through the American media and through our lives since 1945.
This is the chance to look them straight in the eye and say,
"this isn't 60 years to celebrate this is sixty years of
shame!"
So please be creative and think of some way you can get to
Chicago this summer. We will gather there on Tuesday July 12th
(details of location to be announced), so that we can be
present with our very colorful signs at the opening of this
event in
Millennium
Park at 10.00 am on Wednesday July 13th . We will follow this
with a press conference and, if all goes well, with our own
mini-symposium, to present the scientific truth on this
matter. Try, try to be there.
Meanwhile, please find any dentist or doctor you can to sign
onto a statement that it is time to halt this unethical,
unnecessary, inequitable, ineffective, unsafe, and unwise
practice, which the key promoters cannot even defend in open
public debate.
But above all be creative. Send us your imaginative ideas for
slogans, teeshirts, posters, banners, leaflets...(maybe an ad
in the local paper) you name it. We are up against big
budgets, PR machinery, and powerful bullies, but at the end of
the day, they are very boring people! A little creativity
could let some of the hot air out of their huge balloon.
