THE DEMONSTRATION IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FLUORIDE ACTION NETWORK (FAN)

Joined by the National Health Federation, Foundation for Advancement in Cancer Therapy, New York State Coalition Opposed to Fluoridation, and a national network of safe-water, health, and environmental groups, the FAN will focus media attention in Chicago, IIlinois on FAN’s well-planned anti-fluoridation rally. Scheduled Event: 60th Fluoridation Anniversary “Celebration” in Chicago, jointly hosted by the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), two leading fluoridation promoters. We feel this is the perfect time for fluoridation opponents to be seen and heard by the public and the media. Date: July 13–16, 2005 Location: July 13th (Wed.) 10 am – 12 noon Opening ceremony. Millennium Park, Chase Promenade South, Chicago, Illinois. July 14–16th (Thurs-Sat) National (Pro) Fluoridation Symposium ADA Headquarters Bldg. 211 East Chicago Ave., Chicago, Illinois. Problem: The U.S. Public Health Service has launched an escalated campaign toward their goal of nationwide fluoridation. Fluoridation always gets full coverage by the media. This will be a wonderful chance to get national exposure. We must be present and available to give reporters the harm about fluoridation. Our goal is for the media to report this information to the nation. Why Chicago: The National Headquarters of the ADA is located in Chicago. The ADA is quick to claim that fluoridation is safe and effective, despite evidence to the contrary. Fluoride mishaps have occurred throughout the country, including in ADA's "backyard" in Chicago. The ADA has not been able to prevent fluoride-caused accidents, including the deaths of three Chicago patients on dialysis. CDC now concedes that the (intended) benefit of fluoride is topical, not from ingesting fluoridated water. Harmful effects of fluoride were proven in a major lawsuit in Illinois. But these facts do not deter the ADA and CDC from their ominous goal of targeting the entire nation for fluoridation. Primary concern: daily "low" doses of fluoride on a lifetime basis.
Action Needed:
This ADA/CDC fluoridation "celebration" should sound an alarm
to all of us. It is urgent that as many as possible join us,
including from Chicago, especially at the opening ceremony on
July 13th, to display signs, hand out literature on
fluoridation's health-damaging effects (dental damage, hip
fractures, osteosarcoma, etc.), show your presence to the
reporters, and protest the contamination of our public
drinking water with toxic, cumulative fluoride chemicals. ******************************* Ways You May Help: (1) Phone or e-mail us to arrange to join us at our Demonstration. We especially need an opposition turnout at the Opening Ceremony on Wednesday, July 13th at Millennium Park (10:00 A.M. to noon). (2) Tell friends. Bring friends. Spread the word. Post a Demonstration announcement or this flyer in health and other establishments. Please make and distribute copies. (3) Help get PUBLICITY to newspapers, TV, Radio, Call-In Shows, etc. Follow up with phone calls. (4) Contact and inform your local, State, and U.S. legislators of our demonstration and your concerns.
