Michael L. Culbert ScD

Michael L. Culbert  is the founder-president of the International Council for Health Freedom (ICHF) and information director and vice president of the International BioCare Hospital and Medical Center (IBC) in Tijuana, Mexico.

A lifelong journalist and investigative reporter, he is the author or co-author of more than twenty books in the areas of integrative medicine and medical politics and economics. He has a BA degree from the University of Wichita and an earned Doctor of Science Degree (ScD) and honorary degrees in philosophy and literature. Before moving into integrative medicine, he was an award winning editor of the Berkeley Daily Gazette. His varied career includes teaching Spanish at the University of Illinois, interpreting for the Argentine Air Force, writing radio speeches for former President Reagan and part-time correspondence for NBC in South America.

Culbert is a former co-founder, president and chairman of the Committee for Freedom of Choice in Cancer Therapy Inc. and the Committee for Freedom of Choice in Medicine Inc. His award-winning treatise on medical politics and economics, Medical Armageddon (1998), has been translated into several languages and is circulated in over two dozen countries.

He was one of 110 “alternative medicine” proponents whose meetings in the 1990’s led to the foundation of the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM).
