(110th Congress - Archived Bills and Information)
Seven states are considering eight bills
granting consumers and medical practioners access to complementary and
alternative medical (CAM) therapies, by granting protection to physicians
and other licensed or unlicensed medical personnel that practice CAM from
state medical practice laws. Three new bills have been recently introduced
in the Florida, Kentucky, and Washington legislatures. Five bills,
introduced in 2003 in Iowa, Tennessee, South Carolina, and New York are
still subject to action in the legislative sessions this year.
