Customer Review

One of the best health books out there.

This monolithic 800+ book, or probably or more accurately, encyclopedia gives you all sorts of information about vitamins, minerals, amino acids and herbs such as Echinacea and Ginseng (and even tells you that Siberian ginseng is the best quality ginseng you can buy).

This book is a proactive way to take care of your health. This is all about a branch of medicine called naturopathy or nutritional medicine which uses vitamins and mineral supplements to recover, and even prevent, illnesses. And begins where mainstream medicines stops.

The book is split into three main sections. The first section describes all the basic vitamins, minerals and amino acids and where good sources can be found. There is a chapter on all the major herbs, the Latin names their properties and contraindications and dangers. There is also an interesting chapter on water and how to improve its quality.

The second section, and by far the largest, details with major illnesses; their main characteristics and a brief description of each of them. Then it tell you how they can be treated by vitamins, minerals and each of the subheading of usefulness being Essential, Very Important, Important and lastly helpful. Along with several important herbs that are advised. There are also good general recommendations and considerations to help you recover.

The last part of the book details with complementary therapies that will keep you in the best of health. It starts off with an overview of the therapy. And goes on to tell you what they may help and what sort of treatment you should expect.

This is a fabulous book and should be on every proactive health conscious person’s shelf. But one thing to remember is that it’s not a tool for diagnosing but for treating (although there are several self tests in the descriptions of illnesses to help you). I believe every G.P. in the country should use this with every diagnosis. It is one of the few absolutely indispensable books you need to take care of your health. So stop wasting time and order it now!!!

A point I must add is I bought my copy about 18 months ago and it cost £15 but now I've bought another copy for my uncle and the price had come down to £9.15!!! (this is from amazon btw) so make sure you shop around for the best price.
