YEAR-END MESSAGE FROM THE NATIONAL HEALTH FEDERATION
By NHF President Scott Tips

As this year of surprises comes shuddering to an end, most of the World is looking forward to 2009 with fear and reluctance but also with hope that positive changes might be put in place to correct the excesses of the past. We, at the National Health Federation, are hoping and wishing for the best in the New Year, but we are most definitely planning to meet the serious challenges that we see on the near horizon. If the past is prologue, as has been said, then we are in for some struggles next year. This year, 2008, saw the National Health Federation in the thick of the fight for health-freedom all across the globe. Not even counting the numerous radio shows and speeches that were given, we were present and speaking at Codex meetings in such far-flung places as Beijing (China), Ottawa (Canada), and Cape Town (South Africa). In each of these locations, the Federation made more speaking interventions on those issues that concerned health freedom than all other INGOs combined. And at the last Codex Committee meeting in South Africa, NHF was frequently positively referred to by country delegations in their own floor speeches. Our national lobbyist, Lee Bechtel, fought numerous legislative fires on Capital Hill in Washington, D.C., while I made presentations and speeches on Codex in particular and health freedom in general before intelligent and interested audiences in locales as diverse as St. Paul, Minnesota and Stroud, England. The Federation even had a booth at the St. Paul Campaign for Liberty last September 2nd, with crowds that mobbed us in their quest for more information about NHF and health freedom. More such meetings and presentations are planned for 2009. Yet, as we did last year, we must give credit to you – our loyal members and supporters – for all that you have done to keep us in the field fighting for health freedom. Your monetary and moral support has been absolutely critical to us. Without it, we would not even exist, let alone be a visible force for freedom. So, as the old year ends and a new one begins, we at the National Health Federation sincerely thank you for all you have done and wish you the best for 2009. It is all of you working together through the Federation who have made, and are making, a real difference in the World.
