SHAKEN BABY SYNDROME

On 24th February 1999, after 3 days testimony, Alan Raymond Yurko was found guilty of aggravated child abuse and first degree murder of the death of his infant son Alan Joseph., and sentenced to life imprisonment. Case No. CR98-1730 of the State of Florida vs. Alan Raymond Yurko was heard with a jury of six witnesses (all doctors) for the State and only one witness for the defense. Relevant information crucial to the decision was neither presented nor explored and it was apparent that had the parents of Baby Alan received adequate professional medical advice, they may have prevented the death of their infant son.

Baby Alan was born prematurely at 35 weeks on 16th September, 1997. His mother Francine had suffered health problems during the pregnancy including gestational diabetes, urinary and vaginal infections, E coli infection, had been treated with antibiotics and had also lost significant weight during her pregnancy.

The infant weighing 5 lb. 8 oz at birth was suffering respiratory distress, placed in intensive care and given antibiotics. As well as showing decreased muscle tone and activity, the baby developed jaundice, severe hypoxia (deficiency of oxygen in the tissues), acidosis, dehydration, hypoglycemia and reduced renal function. Despite continuing to experience respiratory problems with grunting and breathlessness, continuing jaundice, wind, painful bowel movements and bloated stomach, on 11th November 1997 Baby Alan received a cocktail of six vaccines. These were diptheria, tetanus, pertussis, haemaphilus influenza B, oral polio and hepatitis B.

Approximately 10 days later, Baby Alan exhibited lethargy, irritability, no appetite, fever and developed a high pitched cry. By 24th November, 1997, Baby Alan began wheezing, vomiting and stopped breathing. Alan rushed him to Florida’s Orlando hospital, giving mouth to mouth resuscitation all the way. On arrival at the hospital the baby had turned blue. Somehow Alan pushed his way in and watched doctors insert a large tube down the baby’s throat pumping air into his stomach, which blew up like a beach ball. A doctor shouted ‘wrong tube, wrong tube!’ This procedure was repeated, again with Baby Alan’s stomach ballooning up. They then put a huge needle in his chest and got the shock pads.

Finally he started to breathe again. Alan and Francine were ecstatic. The doctors decided the baby must be moved to a larger hospital with a special breathing machine because they thought he was septic.

It was at this second hospital that baby Alan eventually died. Alan and Francine were not allowed in to see what was happening to him but waited and waited outside. A doctor came out and told them quite simply that Alan was going to die, that he had broken ribs and his brain was bleeding.

The police immediately came and arrested Alan Yurko, who was accused of ‘Shaken Baby Syndrome’. Alan says ‘Because we could not explain his injuries and because I was the last adult alone with him, I was charged with aggravated child abuse and first degree murder. We could not afford counsel; our lawyers were public defenders (for the State of Florida)’.

There has been a huge increase in ‘Shaken Baby Syndrome’ cases in the US. According to the Idaho Observer of 11th July 2002, ‘This country has already imprisoned hundreds, maybe thousands of innocent parents convicted of SBS. SBS has replaced Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) as a leading cause of infant mortality’. ‘SBS identifies a perpetrator, whereas SIDS deaths are allegedly mysterious. The one factor that ties SBS and SIDS together is vaccines. The truth is that most SBS convictions can be demonstrated to be a cover for medical malpractice and/or murder by injection of childhood vaccines.’

It was only much later that Alan and his wife Francine discovered one of the vaccines given to Baby Alan – DTAP – was from a batch of ‘Hot Lot’ vaccines. The batch DTAP 7H81507, made by Connaught Laboratories, was cited by the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) as having been associated with the most deaths, as well as the highest number of serious adverse events and hospitalisations of any similar vaccine lot during the period of 1/7/90 to 31/8/99.

The fact that Baby Alan was given vaccines from a dangerous and unsafe batch and that he was so clearly unwell, raises the question of whether vaccination should have been administered at all at that time. Yet Francine was given no advice or warning in this regard by doctors or medical staff.

Having had to deal with the life shattering experience of the death of a child, the couple’s 4 year old daughter was taken into ‘care’ to ‘protect her’ from her father. She was sexually battered and molested when her ‘protectors’ left her unsupervised with two boys who had a history of deviant behaviour. The couple’s daughter was also used by the police and authorities to threaten and blackmail Francine, to help them fabricate evidence and testify against Alan. Because Francine adamantly refused to do this, she was charged as an accessory to murder. After great effort and cost, the charges against Francine were dismissed and their daughter returned.

Alan maintains that his baby’s death was the result of the medical treatment he received and a fatal reaction to his childhood immunisation.

This case demonstrates clearly how far pharmaceutical companies will go to protect themselves and their products, in this instance using the State of Florida to back them.

Vaccines are billion dollar industries. New vaccines are constantly being developed. They are administered to children in every country across the world. For this reason any case against a pharmaceutical company over adverse reaction or death is fiercely defended by any means possible.

In Britain we see the same situation over the MMR vaccine. Thousands of children have had mild to severe reactions, many becoming autistic, yet the pharmaceutical industry adamantly refuses to take responsibility and the government protects them.


The really frightening fact that few people want to face, is that there is no real scientific evidence that vaccinations work or are even effective! Parents can become near hysterical in their reaction to this statement! Many vaccinations such as TB were introduced in the 1940s at a time when reported cases of the disease had dropped dramatically, though vaccination would be cited as the reason for the decrease in numbers.

There is numerous evidence that children acquire the disease they have been vaccinated against, after being vaccinated. In other words the vaccination gave them the disease. The evidence is there as far back as the introduction of vaccinations. After England’s first compulsory vaccination law in 1853 the death rate for smallpox over a two year period was about 2000. In 1870-71, England and Wales had over 23,000 smallpox deaths after vaccination was introduced. Japan experienced yearly increases in smallpox following the introduction of compulsory vaccination in 1872. By 1892 there were 29 979 deaths and all had been vaccinated. In the early 1900s the Philippines experienced their worst smallpox epidemic after 8 million people were vaccinated with the death rate quadrupling.

The evidence, which is mostly suppressed or altered is overwhelming. According to What Doctors Don’t Tell You ‘The Vaccination Bible’, most children who contracted measles in the USA after MMR was introduced in 1988, had been fully vaccinated against it. In the 1950s measles was considered to be harmless, children contracted the wild strain and very few deaths were reported. Indeed it was noted that children experienced a strengthening of the immune system after recovery.

The reason behind the many adverse reactions is understood when their contents are exposed. Very few, if any, people seem to know that they can go down to their local library and ask to see the Data Sheet Compendium which lists the contents of all known pharmaceutical drugs and vaccines. These manufacturers’ data sheets are held by pharmacists as well.

DPT (Diptheria/Pertussis/Tetanus) vaccine contains formaldehyde, hydrochloric acid, aluminium and mercury. HiB is cultured on cow’s brains and also contains aluminium and mercury. Polio vaccine contains monkey kidney cell cultures. Is it any wonder that tiny babies having these injections at the tender ages of 2, 4 and 6 months of age, have severe and fatal reactions? MMR contains chick embryo, which may affect children who suffer an allergy to eggs. MMR also contains human fetal cells. Hepatitis B contains mercury and formaldehyde and Influenza contains mercury, formaldehyde, mashed chick embryos. The Environmental Protection Agency in America classes formaldehyde as a ‘hazardous waste’, yet it is injected into virtually every 8 week old baby in Britain and America throughout the world.

Does it really take such a huge leap in the imagination to see how severely damaging these practices are? The reality is that viruses and diseases cultured in questionable ways, as well as dangerous substances, are being injected into tiny babies whose immune systems have had no real chance to develop. Yes, there are children who survive this practice but these are the healthy ones whose systems can take it. Children who are not so healthy are at much greater risk of adverse reaction.

Alan says ‘Since my conviction, I have rallied the support of an armada of scientists, doctors and organisations, which support my innocence. Doctors and scientists from 15 countries, including the US, have stood up to support us. We have numerous reports from experts whom after record review, have declared my innocence. Many are up in arms at the iatrogenic implications shown in the records.’
